It Started With a Denied Claim.
Our founder, Ryan, wasn't looking to start a billing company. He was busy running Vally Medical Group, a multi-location occupational medicine practice spanning Kona, Hilo, and Lihue.
But every month, the story was the same: the "big box" billing company promised 98% collections, but the bank account showed a different reality. Claims were expiring. Denials were being written off without a fight. The practice was leaking revenue, not because of patient volume, but because of administrative failure.
Ryan realized that no third-party vendor would ever fight for his money as hard as he would. So, he built an in-house protocol focused on velocity and aggression. It worked so well that other practices started asking for help. That was the birth of A-Z Medical Billing.
